Not only was the workshop... read more interesting and educational, but the guide was fun and engaging, and the company was warm (especially after the first sample or two of the spirit).

Starting off with a little history of the drink, it soon rolled into sampling some of the brands of hierbas available for purchase, giving us a baseline for what to expect when mixing our own. While sipping, the various herbs found on the island (as well as some others we would be able to use) were passed around for us to experience and consider for our own use, which made for a tactile and aromatic experience. Finally, we were able to sample our guide’s personal mixture before being led in mixing our own.

I really appreciated that the guide had recommendations on what and how much to add to our bottles, since a first timer might be overwhelmed on herbal mixtures. I certainly would have been had I been left with a pile of ingredients, a bottle, and a dream.

Our only real regret about the experience was our own fault: we did not check our email in time to find the invitation for the herb picking walk, which met an hour before the actual drink mixing experience. Nevertheless, there were plenty of herbs available at the table, so all we really missed was a nice walk.

To top it off, the whole experience was perfectly timed such that shortly after the end, we were able to walk to a nearby restaurant and view the beautiful Sant Antoni sunset.

We highly recommend this experience. It’s inexpensive, fun, and the completed bottle of liqueur makes for a lovely decorative souvenir of the island, at least until it’s ready to be drunk.

  If you want to do something different on holiday then this is a great way to spend an afternoon , you get to taste and make your own Hierbas Ibicencas

The workshop would be amazing even without, but to get to have a go at making my own Hierbas was icing on the cake! It was great to be told how to customise the herbs and quantities used to your own taste (and how to make it how your friend doesn’t like so she won’t steal any!). You get to taste several popular... read more hierbas and Phillip’s personal creation (his was our favorite!). The venue at Kasbah is great - right on the sunset strip. Creating your own hierbas was such a cool experience and we’re going home with a unique souvenir that we get to share, remember and enjoy in the future. Highly recommend this workshop!

In... read more between explanations and interesting facts about the history of the drink and the different herbs that go into the liquor, we tried different Hierbas, from the most popular one on the island to the one Phillip makes himself so we could try the differences in quality.

I loved sharing this experience with my friends and it was fun meeting other cool people during the event too. But the best part was at the end when each one of us made our own individual Hierbas Ibicencas, really cool!
